Using the Wiki web as a marketing tool
What is a
Wiki?
A Wiki, or a wiki is a website whose web pages can be edited by
multiple volunteers through the web browser. Users can create, modify or
delete the same text they share. Texts or "wiki pages" have
unique titles. If you write the title of a "page-wiki" somewhere
in the wiki, this word becomes a "web link" (or "link") to
the website. Most current wikis keep a history of changes that easily
recover any previous state and see 'who' made each change.
How it
impacts the marketing of your brand, products and services?
Show that you know your customers, your product
and your market via a wiki.
The impact is the utility that lets you create
and improve pages instantly, giving great freedom to the user, and through a
very simple interface. This causes more people to participate in its
issue, unlike traditional systems, where it is more difficult for users to
contribute to improve the site.
The wiki is an innovative practice that has
expanded its use, for example, in companies, the knowledge acquired by workers
can be shared and complemented by all, and it is used as a tool that fosters
innovation.
Given the great speed with which content is
updated, the word "wiki" takes all its meaning. The resulting
hypertext document, also called "wiki" or "WikiWikiWeb" it
typically produces a user community. Many of these places are immediately
identifiable by their unique use of capitalized words, or capitalized text, use
is to capitalize the first letters of words in a phrase and removing the spaces
between them. This automatically converts the phrase into a link. This
wiki, in its origins, was behaving that way, but now the spaces are respected
and only need to enclose the title of the link between two brackets.
Wikis allow only simple basic text formatting,
while others have more complex support for tables, images, formulas, and even
other interactive elements such as polls and games. Wikis are a true
hypertext medium with nonlinear navigation structures. Each page contains
a number of links to other pages. In large wikis exist hierarchical
navigation pages, usually as a result of the original creation process, but do
not need to use them. Links are created using a specific syntax, the
"link pattern".
And for test, use a search engine to find your
company, service, product or brand. Once you have the list of results, you will
notice that 90% of the results is what others say about your website and only
10% is what their website says about you. For this reason it is important
to consider the Internet as a new medium within the articulation of your
marketing strategy.
